Crop Walk

Today—or yesterday considering it’s 1:30 am—was Crop Walk. Around 200 people walked the streets of Alamosa for a total of 3 miles: the distance it takes some people in the world to have access to food or clean water.

This event kicked off Hunger Awareness Week, raising over $3,000.

After arriving at noon to help set up, I went around and photographed people while handing out Crop Walk stickers. During the walk I ran back and forth down the line of people taking photographs. After three miles of that, I was pretty exhausted.

The walk was followed by a cookout and a live concert by a local band, Sweet Radish.

All in all, it was a huge success. I was really impressed by how many people turned out and how enthusiastic everyone was—Alamosa has a great community of supporters, and that is so important…

Upon arriving home for the night, I spent a few hours editing down photos.

Enjoy!
