Well, this will have to be short considering it’s two in the morning…
My thought of the day: You should always be prepared for the unexpected. Repeat.
Even when you have all of your ducks in a row, when you are looking to the future—and paying extra on your student loans each month, for instance—things can come crashing down.
Today I stepped up to the plate and took a financial “hit for the team.” I could cry and stress about it, or I can accept it and move forward. I’m choosing to move forward and make the most of it.
So, I have the next year to come up with an additional $1,200 I was expecting to have upon completion of my year of service.
While I am willing to take on this challenge and get creative with it, I am also aware that I can’t just pick up a parttime job on my days off…or I will most definitely burn out mentally and physically.
I will have to pick up some side gigs—babysitting, house sitting, stock photography—things of that nature…But I’m also curious to look into some paid writing opportunities, or perhaps find a fellowship.
Anyway, that’s enough for tonight. I did find this really great piece written by Leo Babauta called “Advice to my Kids.” You should check it out! http://zenhabits.net/iloveyou/
